I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the air in the past 15 years (more than 2400 hours according to App in the air, that’s 100 times 24 hours). I like the take-offs and landings, especially the ones going through the cloud layer. I enjoy flying West during daytime, chasing the sun and have a 30-hour day. I’ve seen many sunsets, which are different from the ones on the ground. I always look forward to watching sunrises, especially from the aircraft camera when flying East.
Lake Como
I went to Como on road trip for a long week-end. The destination had been on my list for a long time, popularized by postcards, movies and George Clooney. We found a nice hotel by the lake, walked up the mountains and by the villas around the lake and drove around the lake to the famous village at the center, Bellagio.

Maldives
I went to Maldives for the first time in 2020, and spent New Year’s Day on Kani island. The place deserves it’s nickname of “paradise”. The sunshine, the white sand beach, the turquoise water, the palm trees, the delightful Asian food and the welcoming people, what else to expect?
The island is as small as the lagoon and the ocean are wide. The land is as desert as the water is full of colorful fish, from the iconic manta ray to the small sharks and the tortles.
Singapore
I have lots of amazing memories of this little island in Asia. I attended Nanyang University for a few weeks and traveled there many times. It’s also a hub from where to visit all South East Asia.
I was there for the opening of the Marina Bay Sands, and its iconic infinite pool with a view of the City from the 59th floor. They built gardens behind the hotel, on land claimed over the water, which look like science fiction with giant metal flowers.
Abu Dhabi
The capital of the UAE is a stunning place, an oasis between the Arabian desert and the Persian Gulf. I remember discovering, around 2010, their vision 2030 for a cultural center, comprising several world-class museums.
I was in AD more recently for New Year 2019 and for my last trip before COVID in Feb 2020. I could visit Le Louvre, a museum built like an incredible treasure in the middle of dunes and waves.
Rome
My souvenirs of Rome date back from the Latin books and classes. It’s amazing to walk in the streets around the Forum and the Coliseum and feel like people lived there 2000 years ago. Nothing more relaxing than A night walk across the Trastevere after a long day.
San Francisco
I first went to San Francisco in 1984. Since then it smells like the American dream. Baseball, pancakes and cable car. I went back several times, including twice in 2018. One of my favorite spots is the city view across the GoldenGate Bridge. I just sit there and breathe deeply.
Sydney
I went to Sydney for the first time to spend Y2K with Jamie. The New Year party took place on Bondi Beach. Since then I like going back to the beach. In 2018 I went there with my drone and took a dronie. It was so cool to shoot this picture, I cannot believe it will be boring in only a few years.
